Each of us is born into life with a unique hardwiring called temperament. Once you understand the aspects that make up your child's (and your own!) unique temperament you will understand why each child of us experiences life so differently! Very often temperament and personality are confused -- in fact, personality is *shaped* by temperament. Temperament does not change. It is our hardwired "operating system" that governs the way we experience life. This session will explain the different aspects of temperament and help you 'decode' why each of your children behave the way they do!
Does your child have emotional or sensory sensitivity? This webinar is co-hosted by Melissa Schwartz and Jill Sherman Loftus, MS, OTR/L. Melissa and Jill are friends and colleagues who will share information from their forthcoming book, 'HSPD: The Intersection of High Sensitivity and Sensory Processing Disorder'. In this webinar you'll learn the the subtle but important differences between sensory processing sensitivity (HSP) and sensory processing disorder (SPD). You'll also learn about the points of overlap that can cause confusion or misdiagnosis. Once you have this foundational information you can confidently navigate your child's needs!!! If your child.... * Is a picky eater * Bounces off the walls or never wants to get moving * Is clumsy or seemingly unaware of their body in space * Has bigger emotional reactions than seem appropriate * Is cautious in new situations or environments * Complains of being tired more often than their peers ...then this webinar is for YOU!!!
