Over the past year, we’ve learned how important it is to support the health of our lungs and respiratory system. While we wish we could just go back to normal, we must realize that viruses will always be around…they are never going to go away completely! But all hope shouldn’t be lost! By using food as medicine, we can support and strengthen our lungs and respiratory systems to ensure they are healthy, moist and hydrated. Join me in the kitchen for a LIVE cooking class where I will demonstrate the preparation of a variety of specific foods and herbs to nourish and strengthen your lungs to help you get through these challenging times.

It seems modern science has finally caught up with what ancient practitioners have known for thousands of years. We are intimately connected to the earth. And, we need to rotate our diets throughout the year and change our eating habits with the seasons. Many modern humans eat the SAME food day after day, regardless of seasonality or where it is grown. While nutritional science says broccoli is good for your health, broccoli does NOT grow in every season! During this class, we will discuss how to eat seasonally and diversify your microbiome to boost your immunity and feel your best. I’ll share yummy recipes and strategies to eat seasonally and deliciously.

Working remotely is a new reality nowadays for a great number of employees as we carry on work during the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet for many, it is the first time being required to work remotely for an extended period of time. While remote working helps ensure physical distancing during the pandemic and potentially offers some flexibility to employees, many of us are continuing to adjust to the new working circumstances. In this talk, I will share up-to-date research findings around major sources of stress as we adjust to the “new normal” of work, as well as practical implications that both employees and employers may learn from the research. Donations gratefully collected on behalf of Girls on the Run to support the Atlanta and Chicago councils, specifically. Girls on the Run is a life-changing program for 8- to 13-year-old girls that promotes girl empowerment by teaching life skills through lessons and running. It reaches girls at a critical stage, strengthening their confidence at a time when society begins to tell them they can’t. Underscoring the important connection between physical and emotional health, the program addresses the whole girl when she needs it the most. My name is Jason Williams. I have been in the health and fitness industry for over 17 years. Early on I was interested in body alignment and balance as a track athlete. Much of the training I do is Pilates, corrective exercises, and weight management based. After learn about the fitness and nutrition side of wellness, I felt like there was one aspect missing, meditation. I became a meditation teacher about a year and half ago. Today, I am a Wellbeing Coach, where I incorporate mediation into fitness and nutrition training.
