Christine LaMonica, M.S., ERYT-500, CSCS I am an experienced yoga teacher and teacher trainer, studio owner and creator of the Art and Science of Yoga workshop series for yoga teachers and serious students. I teach motor learning and control as well as yoga for the Kinesiology Department at California State University, Northridge. I have been active in sports and athletics all my life, even competing in a fitness contest in Florida (I made it to the finals!) but it was always something that I did for fun, until I found yoga. The practice really changed my life. Since I took my first class in 2000 I have been hooked! I have studied with and learned from some of the best yoga teachers around, including Annie Carpenter, Maty Ezraty, Saul David Raye, and Richard Freeman just to name a few. For the past few years (and still) I have been deepening my knowledge of yogic philosophy, studying with Christopher Hareesh Wallis, classic nondual Shaiva Tantra philosophy and its practices. I have been teaching yoga for 12 years and have been leading 200-hour yoga teacher trainings since 2018. I am the creator and facilitator of the Art and Science of Yoga Instructional Workshop Series. Additionally, I am the sole proprietor of Prema Yoga and Prema Yoga Evolution, yoga studios which I opened in 2014 and 2017 respectively. I received my M.S. in Kinesiology, CSUN (May 2012) and did my research thesis on the effects of an eight-week yoga practice on aspects of health and performance related fitness. I presented my research at a yoga conference in Haridwar, India in January, 2013. I have also completed a 500-hour advanced teacher training with Annie Carpenter at Exhale Center for Sacred Movement, Venice, CA in February 2012. I also hold a strength and conditioning certification with the NSCA - CSCS.

Michelle Morris - Bio My journey started in 2011 when I left my corporate job after 10 years. Working in corporate, I was never truly happy or fulfilled and was always thinking there must be something more for me and to life. Originally from Lakewood Colorado, my background is in dance and gymnastics. I continued with adult classes and had injured myself, leaving me with a herniated disc. This injury devastated me for years. I began a yoga practice at home and the pain I had been experiencing disappeared like a miracle. I then thought I would like to venture into being a yoga teacher myself. I loved how I felt each time I practiced, and with the practice contributing to the healing of my injury I wanted to share that with others. In 2013 I received my 200 hr RYT and started teaching yoga at a local gym and a few yoga studios in Central Florida. I then furthered my education and was certified in Yoga for Kids and Yoga for Golfers and then went on to receive my 500 RYT in 2016. Later I also received training in Empower Movement Advanced Teacher Training, Yoga Nidra, Sound Healing and Reiki 1. I additionally became certified as a Mind Mastery Health Coach. In 2018 I purchased Bombay Room Yoga, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. My intent is to help people live their best lives, to help people find peace, healing, love and success for themselves. To inspire, bring forth positive light and energy, add value and make a difference in the lives of others.

Dawn’s yoga journey first began in 1999, when she bought a Rodney Yee VHS yoga videotape. She made a habit of practicing yoga every day to bring fitness and stress relief to the ups and downs of daily life. After gaining some momentum and comfort in her practice, Dawn met her match at a local gym a few years later. For the first time, her poses were on public display-meaning: hands-on adjustments, cues, and practicing openly in front of others. After conquering this obstacle, she was led to seek out a permanent yoga studio and a place she could use as a hideout to put her restless mind on the back burner for an hour or two.
Namaste, I’m Natasja! I am a registered revolutionary yoga and meditation teacher, Jyotish astrologer, and spiritual life coach. I was born in The Netherlands. Though my parents were raised Roman Catholic, they openly encouraged spiritual exploration and I was introduced to the philosophies of yoga and meditation from a young age. I found peace through dance, movement, and other creative outlets, so I pursued a formal dance education at Codarts Rotterdam, an internationally-acclaimed school of dance and performing arts. I emigrated to Canada with my family when I was 19 and brought my love of movement to a career in teaching group fitness classes as an award-winning instructor at Goodlife Fitness. Through teaching, I recognized my passion to inspire others to transform their bodies and enjoy more self-confidence, energy, and zest for life. I found myself drawn more and more to the practice of yoga and loved the feelings of balance and clarity that I gained after every class. "True happiness is found only in the relationship you foster with your own heart and the hearts of others." It was the devastating loss of my sister in 2002 that really ignited my journey of self-discovery, self-realization, and self-actualization. Through despair I was able to move into a deep spiritual awakening and I thank my sister for that amazing gift – it lead me to complete my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with well-known yoga teacher; Shiva Rea, and to open Fusionmovement Yoga Studio in the summer of 2009. Through my awakening, I have learned that the physical aspect of yoga is just the doorway – the most significant impact yoga has is on the mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies of a person. The word “yoga” means to unite, to unite our body, mind and spirit. It is my service to humanity to allow each person to come into complete alignment with who they truly are, to allow each person to fill material voids with real purpose and to return to mindful, heart-centred living. To do this, I feel a duty to myself and to my students to continuously learn and evolve my teachings. I completed my training at the school of Kripalu and am now a certified Ayurvedic Health Practitioner. Just last year I spent a month in the Himalayas studying Jyotish Vedic Astrology with master teacher Anand Mehrotra at the Sattva Yoga Academy and I have plans to do more intensive training later this year. Over the years I’ve been lucky to lead several international yoga retreats in Costa Rica. I’ve presented at the International Toronto Yoga Conference and at the World Fitness Expo in Toronto and I’m always honoured to teach at local schools, businesses and community events. MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY: Yoga is for everyone and for every body! I take pride in my ability to teach the same class at multiple levels so that every student feels safe and balanced in mind, body, and spirit. I teach lively, passionate, and dynamic yoga classes and love to interweave little pearls of wisdom to create a little magic. My vinyasa flow classes begin with grounding movement meditation and breathing (pranayama) practices. Each class has a different theme and/or peak pose, and movements are sequenced so that the body and mind are completely prepared to move into the peak pose. During in-person classes, hands-on-enhancements are provided throughout the class so that students can experience a deeper embodiment of the pose. I end with a 10-minute shavasana and/or meditation and I love to leave each student an oracle card to read at the end of their practice. My therapeutic yoga classes are very gentle and restorative in nature. I love to use essential oils and therapeutic touch to create a nourishing experience for each student. The classes incorporate breathing (pranayama) practices, mudras (sacred hand gestures), and/or myofascial release techniques. Music is an important component to all of my classes. To me, music is like adding spice to food, therefore creating a richer and deeper experience of the yoga practice.

Jhon Tamayo was born in 1967 in the south of Colombia. At the young age of 13, he left home in search of his true self. Jhon began traveling throughout South America, where he had the opportunity to meet and embrace countless people, with whom his experiences would later prove to be pivotal in his journey to discover a deeper understanding of life in a raw, organic form. Jhon created the Atmananda Yoga Sequence in 1994 after he saw many yoga students in New York City injuring themselves, and realized that this was a result of other various yoga styles paying little attention to alignment in their teachings. He created the sequence in such a way that equips yoga practitioners with the tools they need to become more conscious about which movements may be the source of their aches and pains, and learn how to adjust their practice in order to prevent future injuries.
